Dometic Hose Barb 118-8095

A hose barb is a brass material made. It works by putting tubing over the top of the barb that the barb is the gripper that holds the tube in place. This hose barb is continuous ridges or bumps on a fitting used to grip inside the diameter of a tube and seal the connection. If the tube is install, it expands over the barb. The grip and seal occur as the tube tries to relax to its original inside diameter behind the barb. It is not advisable to use this in a high-pressure application where the pressure could overcome the barb's ability to hold onto the tube.
